Pharos Reports Busiest Ever IBC

"IBC2005 was our busiest show ever" reports Roger Heath, Commercial Director of automation, control and media-management specialist Pharos Communications. "In the eight years that we have been attending the Convention, we have never seen such uniformly high levels of visitor traffic or received so many promising leads. IBC has confirmed its position as the most important international event in the broadcast engineering calendar. We have already booked larger space for next year.
"High interest was shown in the Pharos Pilot range of touchscreen control equipment which offers a compact and efficient alternative to panel-per-product equipment control in MCRs and studio suites. Using Pilot MCR as a control platform, system designers can unite a very wide range of third-party equipment into a single virtual device. The touchscreen displays can be preconfigured or user-adjusted to show all relevant parameters such as signal levels and the status of connected equipment.
"Centre of attraction on the Pharos stand this year was the new Mediator media management system which integrates library management, media browsing and workflow control. The Mediator web-based GUI is revolutionary in its simplicity of use, employing tasks that lead logically through each step of a broadcast or pre-transmission operation. New operators find Mediator's control routine very easy to learn and enjoy the freedom it offers to tackle non-urgent tasks in any order."
