Pharos Communications is further expanding its sales team with the appointment of Paul Scott as Sales Support Engineer. He joins from test-equipment manufacturer Advanced Measurement Technology where he was a sales engineer.

Paul began his electronics industry career in 1986 when he commenced a four-year electrical and electronic apprenticeship at the Atomic Energy Authority, Harwell. He stayed with the company, privatised into AEA Technology, until 1997 as a project engineer working on robotic software and hardware development. He joined Data Translation in 1998 as a hardware applications engineer specialising in data acquisition and imaging products. From 1999 to 2003 he was with Panasonic as a sales engineer specialising in automation equipment for PCB manufacture.

Paul comments: "The broadcast industry is in an exciting phase, extending IT infrastructure to new boundaries. Pharos is leading the advances and I am looking forward to being involved, especially as Pharos is very well positioned in the market. Playtime Interactive along with a new web-based control system make their worldwide first appearance this month at IBC2004.

Based in Reading, England, Pharos Communications (www.pharos-comms.com) specialises in software architecture for broadcast process control. Since its formation in 1997, the company has developed a wide range of systems for digital asset management, programme archiving, router and device control, and playout to air.
