Pharos is an internationally respected specialist in software solutions and architecture for broadcast process management. Working independently with a wide range of industry-leading technology partners, Pharos offers a unique range of media asset management, workflow, broadcast control, playout automation and media publishing solutions.

ENHANCED: Pharos Mediator At Broadcast Live 2007, Pharos will show the latest generation of its Mediator media asset management platform. This incorporates end-to-end workflow control for any media organisation needing to manage and expand its output more efficiently. Mediator is also now integrated with the established Pharos Playtime multichannel playout automation and several third-party automation systems. An architecture based on Mediator can be further expanded by adding Pharos market-leading Pilot reactive desktop control system. Mediator is a powerful and easy-to-operate media asset-management platform with standard web interfaces at the desktop, a powerful enterprise-ready JBOS application layer and integrated Oracle Enterprise database facilities. It can manage and enhance practically the entire broadcast process including library management, ingest quality-control, spot check, compliance, post-production, graphics, archival, transcoding, transwrapping and storage management, with advanced management reporting.

ENHANCED: Pharos Pilot New additions to the Pharos Pilot desktop control system now enable migration easily from SD to HD operation. Pilot allows operators to manage SD, HD and multidefinition broadcasting via a single touchscreen, including aspect-ratio switching, audio/video synchronisation and audio channel manipulation.
SHOWCASING: Pharos Playtime Pharos will also showcase Playtime, a flexible multichannel presentation playout system using a unique 'package' concept which can associate any number of presentation attributes to a clip or an item in the schedule. This allows large numbers of channels to be managed from a single operator position. The unique package concept also enables dynamically configurable presentation and can integrate incoming live dynamic business or schedule information such as mobile SMS voting or pricing information to change the published output interactively and automatically. Playtime can control a large number of broadcast devices and offers a wide range of features for added resilience.
