Pharos Mediator Library Management interface using desktop browse to improve library operations.
Pharos will be on hand at Video Forum & Broadcast Live to discuss the latest additions to its desktop media management, automation and control systems. New for the show will be a Mediator Library Management module, Playtime studio tools and additions to Pilot desktop control.
New: Pharos Mediator Library Management
The new multi-client Library Management module for Pharos Mediator offers a highly efficient solution by directly integrating library operations with the media management workflow. Higher volumes of physical media, in multiple locations, can now be managed within the Mediator system. Pharos Library Management tracks physical assets such as tape, disc and solid-state media throughout their lifecycle, using the powerful Mediator database and barcodes. The system is suitable for any organisation that needs to manage physical media securely and efficiently, including broadcasters, transmission service providers and post production facilities.
Showcasing: Pharos Studio Playtime, media management for the gallery
Pharos Studio Playtime is a studio control module integrated with the Mediator media management platform. Studio Playtime is designed for busy studio operations that need to be aware of media availability elsewhere in the workflow. Just as Mediator ingest and post production management tools set the workflow priority for transmission and VoD, this efficiency is now available for studio operations. Promos and trailers that need to be ready for presentation in the studio can be added to the Mediator workflow and completed more efficiently. Desktop efficiencies when creating multiple versions with graphics and multiple languages are now available in studio operations. Studio Playtime also provides more flexible studio presentation than traditional A, B, C cart-style operations, with sequential channels or playlists being replaced by a paged content selector. Events can be played in any order and quickly cued for up to four playback chains per operator. Playback of each clip can be via touch screen, hardware control panel or GPI triggering from the studio production mixer.
Pharos is focused on developing software architecture to deliver better broadcast process management for service providers in television broadcast, radio, IPTV and telecommunications. For over 10 years Pharos has continually developed its unique Mediator, Playtime and Pilot desktop broadcast management solutions to offer a next-generation platform to better manage the flow of media through broadcast facilities.
