Pharos Playtime automation is now controlling end-credit playout of all UKTVs channels as part of BBC Broadcasts Playout facilities. The new installation enables BBC Broadcasts Playout and Media Services staff to initiate end-credit digital video effects and audio transition sequences cross-promoting programming across the entire UKTV network. The Playout system is highly automated with all necessary timing, duration, controlling and caption information being input during the schedule planning process.
A Pharos user interface screen displays each component of the end-of-credit sequence and allows DVE moves to be checked and previewed before they go to air. Confidence Playlists are displayed on Pharos workstations interfaced to each programme automation channel via a Pharos Control Platform (PCP). The system controls seven Pixel Power Clarity character generators, each equipped with dual squeezeback channels and an audio-mix option.
