Pharos delivers simple, scalable and secure systems
Pharos delivers simple, scalable and secure systems for production facilities, broadcasters and playout centres. Simple to understand, maintain and configure. Scalable to meet changing business patterns. Secure with seven years development on a robust platform, full backwards-compatibility and 24/7 support. On stand 10.318 at IBC 2004, Pharos will introduce major extensions to its range of broadcast media publishing systems, centred on Automation, Control and Media-Management (ACM):
Automation: Pharos adds a new dimensions to its Playtime innovative presentation playout system. Playtime interActive reduces production costs through the addition of rule-based tracks. These allow playout to vary dynamically according to data such as voting or pricing. For example, a voiceover can be selected automatically according to a winning vote.
Control: Pharos Pilot MCR is being expanded to offer multi viewer router control plus a new central monitoring and control system which can greatly increase the efficiency of network switching centres.
Media Management: New off-site remote ingest and automatic file-transfer features make Mediator a complete standalone system, ideal for network service providers and for use with existing video server systems.
Pharos Audio Servers: Pharos Communications recently enabled BBC World Service to achieve major savings in the time taken to produce between-programme announcements. With the exception of live news, practically all world service output goes to air via a Pharos Programme Assembling Matrix from six Pharos Audio Servers, each equipped with four outputs. Programmes are now supplied to BBC World Service on CD. Pharos ingest equipment converts the CD at 14x real time into a 48 kHz BWAV file format. Interstitials are added using Adobe Audition and the edited BWAV is then exported into the Pharos Audio Server.
IBC 2004 representatives will include: Roger Heath - Sales and Marketing Director Spencer Rodd - Technical Director Nigel Haycock - Sales Hannah Trimble - Marketing Communications
