Mediator compliance and approvals workflow ensures that all content is checked prior to transmission. Material can be sent for compliance editing when if required.

Pharos will be showing the latest version of its widely adopted Mediator broadcast workflow management platform at CABSAT 2009. Easy to learn and a pleasure to operate, Mediator delivers a consistent user experience for all broadcast operations. Mediator 4 provides a platform allowing broadcasters and service providers to benefit from desktop content management, playout and publishing in a totally tapeless environment.

NEW: Mediator's Compliance workflow ensures all acquired content is checked for suitability, edited when necessary and approved prior to broadcast, eliminating the possibility of inappropriate material going to air.

NEW: Mediator's web browser based user interface allows all operations to be distributed to the most appropriate location. From ingest, QC, compliance, right through to approvals, playout and publishing Mediator lets operators work anywhere using PC or MAC.

NEW: Mediator 4 advanced search tools allow users to locate and browse content at every desktop, regardless of its location. This enables a truly tapeless workflow where all content including promotions are managed at the desktop. Browse-based supervisor approvals can be carried out from any location with an internet connection.

NEW: Mediator manages the preparation and transcoding of content for multi-format VOD, mobile and radio podcasting services alongside traditional playout.

NEW: Management Metrics, Reports and Dashboards increase business efficiency by providing visibility of the system's loading and performance to give an optimum ROI from the broadcast infrastructure. Every action in Mediator is tracked in real time against business priorities such as the schedule or service level agreement.

Pharos will also be showing the latest enhancements to Pilot, desktop control for the widest range of third party hardware. More than 400 devices from 50 leading third-party vendors can be controlled from a convenient centralised system, removing the cost and complexity of multiple hardware panels for each user.
