Pharos is well known for its content management systems that handle large scale video and audio media logistics. A little known fact is that Pharos gained its experience and knowledge in content management by supplying large scale radio systems. As the media industries continue to converge then Pharos has applied its knowledge and developed the best platform for managing media for both radio and tv broadcasters. In addition Pharos has recently launched tool sets that that manage the linear content and make it available for the non linear world.
In the modern always-on, always-connected world, listeners and viewers want more ways to consume more content than ever before. Pharos solutions now offer podcasting and syndication features alongside traditional linear playout; all managed on the same Pharos Mediator platform.
Podcasting is not just an add-on to an existing legacy automation system; Podcasting and the latest Pharos Playtime automation are hosted on the Mediator Platform, sharing and processing the same content; making "Ingest once, use many" and reality. This enables Pharos system to manage more channels and more distribution platforms, including permission and licensed-based delivery. This enables the creation of almost an unlimited mix of your content for each podcast channel, depending on the requirements of your key markets.
Pharos' Radio and podcasting solution allows customers to make significant savings when replacing existing radio automation, while adding the capability to expand into new markets, with new methods of delivery and publishing, for new and existing content. Podcasting channels are driven by metadata associated with the programme material, and so enable podcast channels to have their content highly targeted to specific market segments automatically. By introducing advertising and commercial content into the podcast stream, you can be sure that commercial content is as targeted as current technology allows, providing a high degree of ROI.
For example programme content of a particular genre or subject that would normally be spread through a traditional transmission schedule over a number of weeks can be aggregated into a single podcast channel. Additionally, a previous series or episode of a program can be made available in podcast format, without using up valuable transmission bandwidth providing an on-demand catch-up service before a new series is transmitted.
The Mediator platform provides the flexibility to quickly add and manipulate podcast channels, allowing providers to move quickly in response to changing markets. With delivered and proven integration to online services such as Google FeedBurner, Google YouTube and Apple iTunes, Radio and Podcasting solutions allow you to repurpose your content faster, reaching a wider audience, while saving on operational costs.
