Mediator Export allows material to be selected, compiled and exported to tape, disc or as a file.
Mediator Export(s) can be initiated at any stage in a workflow to create intermediate copies of material for:
Mediator's advanced search and browse tools enable users to search, preview and select material for export. The user does not need to worry about the location of the source material (library, online, post production or archive) or the format (SD, HD, I-frame or Long GOP) as Mediator's integrated transfer management will deliver the material automatically for final export.
When dealing with large amounts of complex material or repetitive workflows, Mediator Export significantly increases productivity by automating exports using external lists from traffic or the channel management system.
Mediator can also improve the workflow and media management when exporting partial copies of material. By using the Mediator Compilation Task, a list of the partial clips to be Exported can be created. All selected material is transparently moved to an staging media before being automatically exported to the chosen location.
Mediator supports export to many physical media formats - including eVTR, XDCAM, DigiBeta, DVD and data tape formats such as LTO.
Alternatively, using Mediator's integrated transcoding and rewrapping capabilities, files can be exported in any format, overlaying subtitles and/or timecode where required.
Mediator's integrated transfer management allows the hi-resolution source material to be transferred from wherever it is currently located in the system. All transfers are managed transparently including retrieval from archive through to the final Export.
Such tasks are often carried out by external departments or third party facilities companies, who need a secure physical copy to work with. These operations can be performed over Mediator's web interface - requests are made directly to Mediator removing any additional manual processes.
The operations performed using these viewing copies may generate additional metadata or material components including subtitle files and synopsis information. This new information is easily imported back into Mediator to allow workflow operations to proceed immediately.
Many operations require this export workflow when the viewer is not connected to the Mediator browse system. However, it is possible to streamline the workflow further by allowing users remote access to Mediator browse. Approvals can now be carried out from any remote global location. Mediator browse has been designed from the ground up to be frame accurate. This allows any timecode dependant operations, such as subtitling, to be carried out using Mediator browse.
