A key function of a broadcast workflow is to ensure that the quality of material passing through the workflow adheres to all applicable SLAs for archival, post production and multi-platform distribution. A thorough QC process also ensures consistent channel quality, maintaining a brand's reputation and helping to grow the customer base in the future.
Mediator's QC workflow provides a streamlined, efficient method of quality checking large amounts of material efficiently. The familiar, easy to use, browser based user interface, combined with hi-res and browse viewing options allows QC to take place at any user desktop.
Content can be enhanced through the addition of components such as extra audio files to support multiple language tracks, subtitles, graphics and audio descriptions. As these components are added, Mediator QC can be used to verify each one individually. Mediator's browser based user interface allows multiple users to perform these tasks remotely allowing fully approved material to reach the target market without delay.
Mediator integrates with the leading auto QC tools including Tektronix Cerify, Interra Baton and AmberFin iCR. By placing these tools in line with the Mediator workflow, content may only need to be viewed by exception, for example when concerns are raised by these automatic checks. Monitoring by exception frees personnel for more creative roles. Results of these tests are presented to the user in the familiar Mediator interface allowing them to decide the best course of action.
Automatic QC tools can also be used to verify content as it is transcoded and presented to various delivery platforms including VOD and mobile enabling transcoding errors to be easily and quickly spotted and therefore rectified.
