When building a solution to improve end to end workflow it is essential to understand how each user and department works together, both now and how this is likely to change in the future. Pharos Mediator provides a flexible workflow with a unique Users, Roles and Tasks user architecture. This enables large volumes of complex content to be prioritised and delivered more efficiently. Mediator provides an audit trail of all user actions and comments with full visibility of current material workflow states.
A Mediator Task, such as an Ingest Request or Spot Check, provides users with the tools required to perform the task at hand. Tasks are grouped together into related groups, called Roles. Each Role broadly corresponds to a key process or an operational department. For example an Ingest Role that contains the 'Tape Registration', 'Ingest Request' and 'Spot Check' tasks. Roles are customisable using the powerful administration interface and can be modified as the business grows.
Integrated user interfaces, workflows and reports for specific operational Roles are available as standard modular options known as Task Packs. By grouping related functionality into Task Packs system deployment time can be greatly reduced New functionality can be added more quickly and new channels can be launched in hours. The Standard Pharos Mediator workflows delivered as part of each task pack suit most broadcast operations and additional custom workflows can be provided where required.
Mediator is ideally suited for use in multi-client and multi-library environments. Each client is likely to have a different requirement for a workflow, often dependant on an SLA. In these operations it is also important to maintain separation between each client's material, failure to do this may be costly. Mediator uses Libraries to maintain strict separation of content across a shared architecture, each Library also has it's own workflow.
Mediator groups Libraries together into Contexts, each user is then given access to one or more Contexts. This gives administrators flexible control over cont access. This architecture also allows shared content to be made available by assigning a shared Library to each Context, such as commercials.
The powerful System Administrator functions allow fine control over the assignment of Users, Roles, Tasks, Contexts and Libraries. An Administrator can configure the system to permit each user access to only the Tasks and content appropriate to their job, level of responsibility and skill.
Users are also assigned one or more Contexts and Roles. Tasks may exist simultaneously in multiple Roles. To enable user interaction and for material movements to be tracked effectively, each user is provided with their own login. Mediator provides an audit trail of all user actions and comments with full visibility of current material workflow states.
